Pennsylvania becomes a battleground over election security

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — For anxiety over voting and ballot counting in this year’s presidential election, it’s hard to top Pennsylvania.

The biggest election fraud story you haven’t heard about

President Donald Trump talks incessantly about the dangers of mail-in balloting in 2020 — even as what he cites as examples of this alleged fraud are almost always explained away as simple human error.

Which brings me to California and the California Republican Party, in particular.
In at least three counties in the state — Fresno, Los Angeles and Orange — unofficial ballot drop boxes have popped up promising, wrongly, that they are “authorized” places where people can deposit their mail-in votes.

When there is evidence of it, the people responsible face prosecution,” Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, chairman of the five-member board, said in a news release. “Georgia has multiple safeguards in place that allow our team of investigators to discover fraudulent voting. They worked to catch the wrongdoing in these cases, and they maintain the security of Georgia elections.”

9 discarded military ballots weren’t fraud, Pennsylvania election chief says

HARRISBURG, Pa. — It appears that an election worker’s decision to throw out nine military ballots in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, amounted to a mistake and not “intentional fraud,” the state’s top elections official said Wednesday.

Workers in the elections office in Luzerne County are getting training on handling mailed-in military and overseas ballots, Secretary of State Kathy Boockvar said during an online news conference.

Voters in New York City received absentee ballots with the wrong names and addresses on their ballot envelopes, adding confusion to how they’ll vote and whether their votes will count in the November election.
