Here’s why H.R. 1 is not election reform

H.R.1 and S.1, the House and Senate legislation misnamed as the “For the People Act,” is portrayed by congressional Democrats as a reform of unfair, discriminatory election laws. In reality, it is nothing less than an assault on the accepted democratic norms of free and fair elections, codifying a federal takeover of the states’ constitutionally defined right to regulate elections.

Make no mistake: This is an attempt at a Blue Coup that favors Democrats. Yet, much more worryingly, it would undermine our election rules and processes in ways that affect every American’s faith in the system, not simply the electoral fate of Republicans.

Conservative gathering to feature Trump’s fraud claims

A gathering of conservatives this weekend in Florida will serve as an unabashed endorsement of former President Donald Trump’s desire to remain the leader of the Republican Party – and as a forum to fan his claim that he lost the November election only because of widespread voter fraud.

Matt Schlapp, chairman of the Conservative Political Action Conference and a Trump ally, said discussion panels on election integrity would highlight “huge” evidence of illegal voting in Georgia, Nevada and elsewhere that ultimately swung the election for Democrat Joe Biden.

Nevada ‘fraud’: 1,500 ‘dead’ voters, 42,248 voted ‘multiple times,’ RV camps as ‘homes’

The Trump campaign on Wednesday unveiled a tranche of information it plans to present to a Nevada state court Thursday that suggests there were thousands of fraudulent votes cast — possibly enough to overturn Joe Biden’s win there by 33,569 votes.

Officials said that among the evidence and expert testimony to be presented in Carson City are indications that over 1,500 ballots were cast by dead voters, that 42,248 people voted “multiple times,” data on a huge spike in incomplete voter registrations, and home addresses in temporary RV camps and casinos.

Claims Of Widespread Voter Fraud In Georgia Are ‘Unlikely,’ State Official Says

The Georgia secretary of state’s office says it continues to look into every complaint of voter fraud but that so far, it has found little evidence that it happened on a widespread basis.

“Every single one that comes in, we’re going to investigate, we’re going to track it down,” said Gabe Sterling. “It doesn’t mean anything happened, it didn’t mean anything didn’t happen. What we have to find is evidence of something happening.”

Matt Schlapp’s baseless claim that 9,000 Nevada mail ballots are illegitimate

As supporters of President Donald Trump ramp up their efforts to delegitimize the election with unsubstantiated allegations of widespread voter fraud, one high-profile Republican ally claimed that 9,000 Nevada ballots were fraudulently cast by nonresidents.

“We have literally 9,000 people who voted in this election who don’t live in Nevada,” American Conservative Union chair Matt Schlapp told Fox News on Nov. 8, wrongly claiming the election has seen widespread “fraud” and “illegality” but offering no proof to support his allegations
