Arizona Senate still eyeing site to audit Maricopa County votes

Arizona Senate President Karen Fann said Friday that Maricopa County officials may be balking at cooperating with an audit of the 2020 election results because they fear what it might turn up.

“I’m beginning to wonder if they’re not as confident in their (election) system as they say they are,” Sen. Fann told Capitol Media Services on Friday of the latest refusal by county supervisors to let Senate-hired auditors review the tallying equipment and hand count the 2.1 million ballots where they are currently located at county election offices.

AZ Senate Seeks Contempt Charge In Maricopa County Election Fight

PHOENIX, AZ — Arizona Senate Republicans are moving forward with their threat to pass a contempt resolution finding that Maricopa County has not complied with a subpoena demanding access to elections equipment and ballots used in the Nov. 3 election.

The Senate introduced the resolution Wednesday afternoon. It is unclear when the senate will vote, but all 16 Republican senators are listed as sponsors of the legislation. With the GOP in control of the legislative body, it will likely pass.

Arizona Senate to Consider Contempt Charge in Election Fight
